SIG Events -
Thank you to the hundreds of visitors at our networking
events for making the PMI
NA Leadership Meeting and Congress in Seattle a great success
for our SIG. It was wonderful to meet our members one-on-one at
our Annual
SIG Meeting and share our successes in 2006 and plans for
the coming year. This year's meeting was well attended with participants
from Alaska to Australia, and was a great representation of our
male AND female members! The meeting wrapped up with volunteer
recognition and door prizes (always a fun part!!). And, although
the joint event with ITT SIG, TSA and Gantthead was an
overall success, we do apologize for the venue limitations and
not being able to meet and greet our guests as much as we had
hoped to do. Now it's time for all of us to slow down, relax,
enjoy the holiday season and close out the year--from
the SIG Board, we wish you all PEACE and PROSPERITY in the coming
year.
Thank you to member volunteer, Serena Ainsworth,
for doing another excellent job of representing the SIG at the
PMI NJ Symposium- "International Project Management Day"
on 2 November. Visit
their website for more info on the speakers and presentations
and 2007 events in which the SIG will be participating.
On a related note, we hope you all were able to personally celebrate
International Project Management Day in some way. The official
website had a very clever and amusing video clip created in
conjunction with the PMI Government SIG; it also had opening remarks
from Frank Saladis who created this concept year.

PMP® eStudy -
the eStudy team continues to provide an excellent service to our
members. As the year draws to a close many people are preparing
to write their PMP exam to meet a personal goal - and we wish
them all well! If the interest is high enough, we'll host another
eStudy group in 2007. If you are interested in participating as
an instructor OR a student please contact estudy@wipmsig.org.

Study Finds that Woman-led Businesses Make up $10B of
Local Economy
The
women at the helms of large businesses in Massachusetts
like to call the shots, but they are quick to seek
input from others along the way, according to an annual
study of the state's women-led companies. The women
who participated in the study make philanthropy a priority
at their companies -- and the more women a company hires,
the greater its focus tends to be on social good. These
women CEOs are experienced, coming to their executive
positions with an average of 13 years of work behind
them, and their businesses contributed a total of $10
billion to the local economy in 2005.
